Signage for Vasai and Virar, built for salt air.
Vasai and Virar sit close enough to open sea that ordinary signage does not survive. Half the jobs we take here are replacements for boards that rusted in under two years — and almost every one of them was sold as stainless steel.
The rust problem, honestly explained
A letter sold as "SS" is often 202 grade — cheaper, magnetic, and fine indoors. In Vasai's air it starts bleeding rust from the weld lines within a season or two. By the time it shows, the fabricator is unreachable.
| What to specify | Why here |
|---|---|
| SS 316 | The correct grade for open coastal exposure. Costs about a third more than 304, lasts many times longer here |
| Powder coated aluminium | Never rusts. Good budget alternative to 316 when a colour finish is wanted anyway |
| Acrylic with aluminium return | Lit signage with no ferrous parts exposed |
| SS 202 / painted MS | Avoid outdoors. This is what fails and gets replaced |
We state the grade on every quotation, and mill test certificates for the sheet can be supplied with the order. That is the only real protection a customer has.

What the market here orders
Growing retail high streets — clothing, mobile, jewellery, medical and food outlets — mostly want front-lit letters or ACP fascias with pinned letters, because they read well at night on a busy road. Schools, hospitals and new residential complexes take building identification and directory work. Restaurants and lawns near the beach belt want feature lighting, where we use silicone neon flex rather than exposed metal fittings.
We are next door
Bhayandar to Vasai is one bridge. Virar is roughly 35 km. Surveys usually happen within a day of the call, and if something needs attention after installation, we come and fix it rather than posting parts.
Common questions
Why do signboards rust so fast in Vasai and Virar?
Salt-laden coastal air. It attacks 202-grade steel and painted mild steel quickly, and it will eventually mark even SS 304 in an exposed position. SS 316 or aluminium is the correct answer here.
How much more does SS 316 cost than SS 304?
Roughly 25–35% more on the material. On a coastal exterior sign it is cheaper than replacing a 304 board in two or three years.
Can you replace only the letters and keep my existing frame?
Usually yes, if the frame is sound. We check it at survey — if the frame itself is corroded, replacing letters alone is money wasted.
Do you serve Palghar and Boisar as well?
Yes, on a scheduled basis. Those trips are planned together with other work in the belt so travel cost stays reasonable.
